Korean Children’s Choral Convention was established in order to develop new children’s choir music while singing and studying together. Korean children have an outstanding musicianship, even if they are compared to any other children in other countries. However, because of the poor education environment and the education system that focuses on college entrance exams, it is very difficult for the Korean children and teenagers to learn music. Especially since choral music is a team-based activity, many teachers and parents think that it is a loss for their child to participate in a choir rather than having a one-to-one lesson. However, one must learn to live together in harmony, and the right place to learn how to live together is the choir. In this sense, the Korean Children’s Choral Convention, where we invite about 20 different children’s choir every January to learn choral music and listen to other choir while the children learn how to be considerate for others, is a festival for children who participate in a choir. Especially Korean Children’s Choral Convention is a unique place where the choirs can perform with the music that the Chorus Center composers have composed only for them. Chorus Center recruits new choirs to participate in the convention from August to October every year.
